Welcome to Legacy Pointing

Legacy Pointing provide professional pointing services across the North West of England, delivering high-quality workmanship on every project.

With over seven years of hands-on experience, we have developed the skills and attention to detail required to carry out projects to the highest standard - from initial preparation through to final completion.

Our experience began under the guidance of highly skilled, seasoned professionals, ensuring that my work consistently met strict industry standards. As our expertise grew, we progressed to managing full projects independently, always maintaining the same commitment to excellence. We firmly believe in a “quality over quantity” approach, taking the time to ensure every job is completed with precision and care.

We take genuine pride in my craftsmanship and this dedication is reflected in the finish of every project we undertake.

re-pointing

This involves removing the old, damaged mortar to a minimum depth of 15-25mm, then replacing it with fresh mortar to restore the walls strength and appearance.

A number of substrates and finishes can be used including: Lime, Sand and Cement, Flush Point, Brushed Pointing, Bucket Handle/Jointer.

All works discussed and advised on quotation.

grinding out (Dust controlled)

This is where we carefully remove any old and damaged mortar, using our dust controlled set up, making sure not to mark any bricks or overcut and unnecessarily widen the joint.

This part of the process is arguably the most important, to make sure that all the joints are clear and the required depth is met so as to increase the life of the mortar and function.

water proofing

This is where we treat the masonry with a silicon based water repellent, as to still allow the masonry to breathe but still offers protection against the weather.

This all helps to:
- Stop water ingress.

Helps to prevent water soaking into the masonry.

- Protect the masonry.

Helps to reduce cracking, erosion and frost damage.
